The pilot tender for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points in public carparks island wide has been awarded. This tender is part of the plan to contribute towards the national target of 40,000 public charging points by 2030.

The installation for this round of tenders will be done by 2 consortiums.

Charging stations in the Central, East and West regions will be installed by ComfortDelGro Engineering Pte Ltd and its consortium partner, ENGIE South East Asia Pte Ltd.

Charging stations in the North and North-East will be fitted by Primech A&P Pte Ltd and its consortium partners, Charge+ Pte Ltd, Sunseap Group Pte Ltd and Oyika Pte Ltd.

It is expected that more than 600 EV chargers, across 200 carparks, will be installed. These new chargers can be found in public housing, industrial estates and the Central Business District, and will be progressively installed over the next 12 months.

If you own an EV, here’s some good news - the first of these new points will be commissioned towards the end of the year!

When all is said and done, the number of available points will be as follows:

Region

No. of charging points

Central

210

North

50

North-East

100

East

120

West

140

These companies have been chosen as they have proven to the relevant governing bodies that they are able to provide quality charging services, have financially stable business models and competitive charging prices.

Expect all of the stations to be operational by Q3 2022.
