Capable of travelling 510km from a single charge, the new Kia EV6 promises to deliver a spacious interior with high-tech features for an intuitive user experience.

The new Kia EV6 enters the crossover SUV market with its impressive long-range battery, zero-emissions and 800V ultra-fast charging capabilities. The EV6 will be sold for the global markets from the second half of 2021, with pre-orders starting on March 30 for selected regions.

Kia’s President and CEO, Ho Sung Song, said that the "EV6 is the embodiment of the new Kia". It was created to inspire every journey through bold architecture, progressive engineering, and cutting-edge technology.

The EV6 was created following the brand’s latest design concept, ‘Opposites United’, which is inspired by the contrasts inherent in nature and humanity.

It has a distinctive styling exterior; Kia’s ‘tiger face’ has been reinterpreted for the digital age at the front, with daytime running lights that provide a sequential dynamic light pattern. The side profile features an elegant crossover-inspired silhouette, which is modern and sleek.

The rear has a sloping C-pillar with an integrated black glossy insert that appears to extend the window glass. Above this sits a prominent wing-type roof spoiler for improved aerodynamic.

The interior of the EV6 is intelligent and versatile with plenty of cabin storage space. The EV6 has a wheelbase of 2,900mm, which results in a cabin space comparable to that of many mid-size SUVs. Storage space in the trunk increases to approximately 1,300 litres when the second-row seats are not in use.

Relaxation seats are slim, lightweight and contemporary, with new, visually attractive, and durable fabrics made from recycled plastics – the equivalent of 111 plastic water bottles.

The vehicle also has a high-tech curved infotainment screen that is seamless. Kia predicts that the EV6 will encourage consumers by stimulating their imagination.

In the driver’s seat, you’ll get a high-tech 12-inch dual infotainment display in a curved structure with thin-film panels to reduce light effects.

The EV6 also has an augmented reality (AR) head-up display device, which projects the driving details onto the bottom of the windscreen, directly in front of the driver’s line of sight.

Driver and passengers can enjoy the solid 14-speaker Meridian surround audio system, a first for a Kia BEV, offering a truly immersive sound experience.

The most recent iteration of Kia’s revolutionary connected car system, ‘Kia Connect’, formerly known as UVO, is included, with a range of real-time applications and over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Users can use Kia Connect to locate EV charging point locations and prices, view their vehicle’s charging status, prepare smart charging schedules, and check the range radius based on the remaining charge.

The EV6 offers 800V and 400V charging capabilities without the use of any external components or adapters. The car can charge from 10 to 80% in 18 minutes on all models, covering a distance of more than 510km.

The new generation of Kia’s BEV will feature an Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU); it opens up the vehicle-to-load function, capable of discharging energy from its battery.

It supplies up to 3.6kW of power, equivalent to the amount of power provided for a 55-inch television and an air conditioner for more than 24 hours. It is also able to charge another EV, if needed.
