In an effort towards a car-lite city, a six months pedestrianisation trial will be taking place between Woodlands Drive 63 and Drive 71 (adjacent to Kampung Admiralty).
Beginning of next month, water-filled barriers will be placed along the westbound stretch, closing off the road to private vehicular owners. For the eastbound direction, it will only be accessible by buses and emergency vehicles.

Nearby residents and students can look forward to easier and safer access to Admiralty MRT, schools and other amenities. Land Transport Authority (LTA) will engage with the community to seek feedback and suggestions, before implementing permanent infrastructural changes in Phase 2 of the project.

LTA will also be rolling out plans to transform more underutilised road lanes into cycling lanes, bus-only roads and footpaths — making public transport, walking and cycling more convenient and pleasant for pedestrians and commuters.
