The all-new Avante has arrived on Singapore shores, and promises to be larger, more luxurious, and faster than before. A turbocharged performance version of the compact sedan may also be on the way!

Komoco Motors has unveiled the all-new seventh-generation Avante today. Sporting Hyundai’s new “Sensuous Sportiness” design language, the all-new Avante has been sculpted with many striking parametric dynamics designs.

As ever, Hyundai has jam-packed the Avante with an endless list of features, including wireless charging, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, and heated and ventilated front seats (on the Elite trim).

A noteworthy feature is the Avante’s fully digital 10.25” dash, which blends across into the 8” touchscreen infotainment display.

The new Avante boasts Hyundai’s new SmartSense suite of safety technology, and is capable of level 2 autonomy technology like lane following assist, and adaptive cruise control that can drive off from temporary full stops.

The seventh-generation Avante comes with Hyundai’s new 1.6l Gamma II SmartStream engine, which produces 123hp and 154nm of torque. Instead of a conventional automatic, the Avante now comes with Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), which uses a chain, rather than a belt as in conventional continuously-variable transmissions (CVTs).

With this powertrain set-up, the Avante promises a 0-100km/h timing of 10.4 seconds, which is impressive for a 1.6l naturally-aspirated CAT A COE car.

Hyundai’s seventh-generation compact sedan is also far more refined than its class rivals, the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, due to improved door and window designs.

The all-new seventh-generation Avante comes in two trims: S (S$99,999) and Elite (S$106,999), although Komoco Motors has not ruled out bringing in the sporty Avante N-Line, which is equipped with a 1.6l turbocharged engine.
