The Land Transport Authority has announced that Authorised Inspection Centres (AICs) will resume vehicle inspection services for private cars from 8 June 2020.

According to a press release on 5 June 2020, private car owners who have had their inspection deadlines deferred previously due to the Circuit Breaker measures will receive a notification from LTA.

Private car owners are advised to avoid weekday peak hours from 10am to 2pm where possible. They should also adhere to the scheduled month indicated in the notification.

Furthermore, private car owners should visit the AICs alone, and abide to safe management measures that have been put in place. It includes using SafeEntry when checking-in and checking-out, wearing a mask, and maintaining a safe distance from other visitors.

Previously, the periodic inspection deadline for private cars was extended by 6 months. This extension applied to all private cars that were due for inspection between 7 April and 30 June 2020.

Please be reminded that you will need to pass your vehicle inspection before you can renew your road tax. You will also need to have sufficient motor insurance coverage as well.
