July 2026 COE Results 2nd Bidding: Singapore lost the World Cup of sensible vehicle prices, but with a minor pullback in quota premiums for Categories A, B and C
In the second COE bidding exercise of July 2026, Cat A closed at $126,000; Cat B closed at $129,890; Cat C closed at $93,889; Cat D closed at $10,202; while Cat E closed at $129,971.
Cat A (car up to 1600cc & 130bhp, and EV with up to 110kW) received 1,590 bids for 1,245 COEs and its premium dipped by $3,000. Category A COE closed at exactly $126,000.
Cat B (car above 1600cc or 130bhp, and EV with more than 110kW) received 1,365 bids for 871 COEs and its premium dipped by $999. Category B COE closed at $129,890.
Cat C (goods vehicle and bus) received 430 bids for 301 COEs and its premium decreased by $1,111. Category C COE closed at $93,889.
Cat D (motorcycle) received 620 bids for 562 COEs and its premium increased by just $1. Category D COE closed at $10,202.
Lastly, Cat E (all vehicles except motorcycle) received 450 bids for 263 COEs and climbed by $170. Category E COE closed at $129,971.
Based on insights from motor traders, who just recovered from World Cup fever before suffering their usual COE headache, some form of weak stability was evident in today’s COE results.
Adelene Tan, managing director of Vantage Automotive BYD, said: “We can see from the bids received that demand weakened after the price went up in the last round.”
Corinne Chua, managing director of Volvo Car Singapore, added: “The overall high COE in the last round and the record high Cat A COE premium have slowed down the demand, as can be seen by the number of unsuccessful bids in this round, from 51 percent down to 28 percent. The new quota for next quarter is coming out anytime, if there isn’t any major change, it should be stabilised around this level.”
