Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre Singapore (HMGICS) is marking its first anniversary of community engagement by unveiling a new wave of youth-focused partnerships and programmes designed to champion sustainability, innovation, and education across Singapore and the wider ASEAN region.

As it enters its second year of outreach, HMGICS has announced collaborations with global ocean exploration organisation OceanX and Temasek Foundation, aimed at inspiring young people through hands-on learning and real-world exposure to science, technology, and future mobility.

Through its partnership with OceanX, HMGICS will offer students in Singapore the chance to explore cutting-edge ocean technologies, robotics, and sustainable engineering. The initiative begins with a learning day aboard the OceanXplorer, one of the world’s most advanced marine research vessels, followed by workshops at HMGICS focused on innovation for a greener future. In 2026, OceanX will also serve as a challenge partner at the HMGICS Annual Hackathon, providing mentorship and participating on the judging panel.

Meanwhile, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed with Temasek Foundation will see HMGICS support the 2025 Temasek Foundation Specialists’ Community Action and Leadership Exchange (TF-SCALE) programme. The program will bring together students from Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and their ASEAN counterparts for immersive learning journeys at HMGICS, where they will gain insights into advanced manufacturing, sustainable design, and the future of mobility.

Looking ahead, both organisations plan to explore new ways to enhance youth employability and develop sustainability leadership skills.

Since opening in 2023, HMGICS has become a cornerstone of Hyundai Motor Group’s transformation into a smart mobility provider. Over the past year, it has partnered with local educational institutions, supported community and sustainability programmes, and provided real-world learning opportunities, reinforcing its commitment to growing alongside Singapore and nurturing the next generation of innovators.
