AXS, Singapore’s home-grown pioneer in digital payments, looks ahead from its 25-year milestone to make financial technology even more accessible to AXS users.

Since the local fintech company was founded in 2000, it has processed more than 700 million bills with a total transaction value of over S$300 billion. Today, AXS facilitates an average of 70 transactions per minute, with the peak activity period said to be on the first and last five days of the month, and Mondays too, typically from 10pm till late.

The latest fintech initiatives by AXS build upon the company’s 25-year legacy of facilitating the payment of bills, not only for individual payers but also merchants and government organisations on the payee side.

What’s new from AXS for its 25th year in the business includes a new generation of AXS self-service kiosks, which will be introduced from the first quarter of 2026 and eventually make up 30 percent of the 630+ AXS Stations in Singapore.

The new-generation AXS physical kiosk has facial recognition, personalised homepages and other user-friendly features. There is also a compact, modular version designed for specific partner needs, such as in a place of worship (e.g. for cashless donations) or a condominium (e.g. to pay maintenance fees or book facilities).

The AXS m-Station app and its spinoff AXS Drive app meant for motorists have also been boosted in terms of functionality.

The main AXS app, which has notched up more than 5 million downloads to date, now offers quick personal loans (by Standard Chartered Bank), with approved funds disbursed to the borrower’s bank account in 15 minutes.

In addition, AXS will launch its own (and Singapore’s first) rewards programme for bill payments. Called AXS Coins, it will come with a complementary AXS Card to extend the value proposition across everyday card transactions.

The AXS Drive app, which currently has over 40,000 registered users, now supports ERP payments (even for commercial-vehicle owners) and EV charging (across over 3,800 charging points under certain operator networks, including SP Mobility).

These two additional functions make the AXS Drive app even more useful for drivers, who can also use it for seamless, Cashcardless payment of parking fees at more than 100 commercial carparks in Singapore.

“AXS was founded on the belief that payments should remove friction. Over the past 25 years, we’ve transformed alongside the needs of Singaporeans, whether through kiosks in the early days, mobile and digital platforms, or new services we offer today. As we look ahead, our commitment is to continue building solutions that anticipate the way people live, move, and transact, and work hand-in-hand with them,” said Jeffrey Goh (pictured above), Group CEO of AXS, who also co-founded the firm 25 years ago in 2000.
