BYD-Themed Restaurant Opens in Boat Quay

Chinese carmaker BYD is set to increase its brand presence in Singapore even more this year, this time through lifestyle-centric angles. 

The world's largest electric car (EV) manufacturer, partnered with their local authorised retailer Vantage Automotive and sustainability-focused lifestyle group EightX Group, held a grand launch of the BYD by 1826 restaurant located at 33 Boat Quay last week.

Aimed towards accelerating Singapore's green initiatives such as the "Collective 2030 Zero-Emission Vehicle Initiative" and the "30 by 30" Sustainable Food Goal, this collaborative effort offers customers a seamless lifestyle experience that blends BYD's EV offerings, a premium-casual dining atmosphere, and a community hub for likeminded people.

According to 1826 Restaurant CEO Davin Ongsono, this is the first of several similar lifestyle spaces planned for the city-state, with the next one slated to open in Suntec City.

The restaurant will offer food and drinks menus named after various BYD cars, such as the Mr Seal Lychee mocktail and the Dolphin's Treasure Threadfin main dish, driving home the theme of BYD vehicles. It will also offer ATTO 3 Hokkaido Scallops, named after their runaway hit EV crossover. 

More than that, parts of the dining space have been designed to showcase BYD cars, albeit in 1:18 scale, as well as colour palettes and upholstery material samples from their production cars. There are even BYD-branded merchandise, such as apparel and lifestyle accessories, on display.

Spokespeople present at the grand launch confirmed that employees there have been trained to answer questions and queries about the brand's cars. A test drive of the latest Atto 3 can also be arranged with a salesperson there.

BYD by 1826 is open from Monday to Sunday, 11:30AM to 12:00AM. Interested patrons can click here to find out more about what the restaurant has to offer.
