mReview: 2022 Audi e-tron GT - A Fast, Fastback For The New Ages

The Audi e-tron GT might as well have come from the future. It looks like nothing else on the road, and that’s saying something, seeing how car design has converged in the past decade.

But the concept car aesthetics isn’t the only thing that is futuristic about the car. In fact, it might just about be the closest thing you’d experience to another piece of technology that’s just science fiction for the time being.

But is this just a one-trick pony with its straight line acceleration?

A snarling naturally-aspirated V8 engine to wake your neighbours up at night. A rear-wheel drive layout to go sideways at will. A no-frills interior to focus on the one thing that matters when in command of an AMG – driving.

If you were expecting to find these elements in the latest Mercedes-AMG CLS 53, you’d be sorely disappointed. Yes, it still retains the once-controversial artsy swooping lines that have become synonymous with CLS models, and still commands road presence that few cars can brag about, with its imposing dimensions.

But it has also replaced the proven formula, bringing out a smaller turbocharged inline-six unit, a four-wheel drive system, and a posh cabin similar to that of a swanky upmarket lounge.

Not a bad thing, we suppose. But with all the seemingly watered down characteristics to cater to a larger audience, we couldn't help but wonder: “Is this still a proper AMG?”

Motorist Car Buyer's Guide: Honda Jazz 1.3A

While the Jazz might not be the “jazziest” model that Honda produces, it has still proven to be extremely popular not just in Singapore, but in global markets too.

First launched in 2001, and now well into its fourth generation, the Honda Jazz (or the Fit, as it is also known if brought in by parallel importers) is the bread and butter of Honda’s lineup, with global sales figures totalling over 2.8 million units in 2019.

In the market for one? Here are some pointers you should keep in mind before putting a deposit on one!
