Singapore & Malaysia to Reopen Land Borders to Vaccinated Travellers
Amidst the exorbitant COE and fuel pricing chaos, we finally have a glimmer of hope that all can look forward to.
Amidst the The government has just announced that from April 1st 2022, fully vaccinated travellers will be able to travel freely from Singapore to Malaysia without the need to undergo quarantine or testing, including pre-departure and on-arrival tests. This is applicable to all categories of travellers and modes of transport via the land borders.
The announcement came as a joint statement between Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, which agreed to work on resuming travel completely since the pandemic situation has stabilised in both countries.
Both prime ministers stated that they "recognise the good progress that both countries have made in vaccinating their respective populations and regulating the COVID-19 pandemic, and note the progress made in resuming cross-border travel through the various Vaccinated Travel Lanes, the ones currently active are Air and Land".
