October 2021 COE Results 2nd Bidding: Premiums Rise Across Every Category, Cat B and E Reach 7-Year High
Last week, the LTA announced a greater reduction in COE quotas for private cars for the COE cycle of November 2021 to January 2022. This has triggered an uptick in prices in the 2nd COE bidding exercise for October 2021, with Cat A closing at $52,709, Cat B at $80,210, Cat C at $40,501, Cat D at $9,310, and Cat E at $85,000.

We’ve all had those passing thoughts: “A car would do me some good”. Perhaps you may have even shortlisted a few potential vehicles that you’d like to buy. But alas, the timing seems to be all wrong. With COE prices at a seven-year high, it makes little fiscal sense to purchase a brand new car. It’s back to public transport and private-hire cars for the time being then.
Or is it? Find out why you should buy a used car here!
It’s not easy determining the right time to sell your car. There’s this whole depreciation thing to contend with - a wrong move can potentially lead to big financial losses. We’re not actually touching on the sales process itself - that’s easy enough, and we can assist you through the entire process. We’re talking about figuring out the car markets, prices, and of course, the timing.
The compact and sporty Kia Stonic M-Hybrid now comes with mild hybrid capabilities, making it fun to drive while also keeping petrol costs down. Enter the Kia Stonic M-Hybrid, the compact but capable crossover model in the Korean automaker’s range.
With COE prices at a record high, it only makes sense you'd look at a Cat A for reduced financial strain. The Stonic is a prime example of a Cat A car executed very well. Click here for the full review!
We’ll say this from the outset—the Suzuki Swift 1.2 Mild Hybrid is a give and take kind of car. But if you’re on a tight budget and are simply on the hunt for cheap and cheerful hatch, you’d probably already be okay with some give and take.
If you'd prefer your Cat A car in hatchback form, look no further than the Suzuki Swift!
