Toyota Launches the All-New Yaris Cross Compact SUV Hybrid; Priced from S$101,888

Combining Toyota’s strong heritage of advanced hybrid technology, compact car design, and SUV engineering, the all-new Yaris Cross is expected to be an ideal urban runner for Singapore.

Featuring a higher driving position, practicality, and interior spaciousness suitable for everyday urban driving, Toyota promises that its all-new Yaris Cross Hybrid combines compactness and agility, as well as the robustness and strength of an SUV.

Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform with a revamped suspension set-up, the all-new Yaris Cross achieves both agile handling and a high-quality ride characteristic of the Yaris series.

Powertrain

The all-new Yaris Cross Hybrid is powered by a 1.5 litre 3-cylinder dynamic force engine, paired with a permanent magnet synchronous motor powered by a lithium-ion battery pack.

This gives a total output of 110hp, with peak torque figures of 141nm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels through a CVT with 10 simulated gears, giving a 0-100km/h timing of 11.4 seconds and a top speed of 170km/h.

The Yaris Cross comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, a sophisticated suite of integrated active and cutting-edge safety systems. Toyota Safety Sense is included on many new Toyota vehicles, but the all-new Yaris Cross sees the debut of new functions such as:

• Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
• Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection
• Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Emergency Steering Assist

Additionally, the Toyota Safety Sense package also features:

• Automatic High-Beam (AHB)
• Lane Departure Alert (LDA)
• Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
• Parking Brake Support with (PKSB) with Front & Rear Parking Sonar
• Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

The Yaris Cross also comes with a fully digital instrument panel, and a touchscreen infotainment system with that is capable of supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Apart from the improved ride height, Toyota has also made it a point to maximise space in the cabin for added practicality.

The adoption of lithium-ion battery technology in its hybrid system allows the Yaris Cross Hybrid's battery pack to be located beneath the rear passenger seat, so that luggage space is not compromised. This has resulted in a boot that has an adjustable height deck that is capable of carrying 390 litres of cargo.

The Yaris Cross is available in two trims.

The lower-trim Active is priced at S$101,888. The S$106,888 Excite trim gets higher-spec LED lamps, swaps the PU steering wheel and shift knob for leather ones, and comes with an additional 10.1" Head-Up Display.
