Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, the new Avatr T09 Concept previews a flagship full-size SUV with more than 1,000 horsepower and over 400 km of pure-electric range under CLTC testing.

Making its global debut at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026, the Avatr T09 Concept is the first model in the brand’s new flagship series. Its production version is expected to launch before the end of 2026, although market availability details have yet to be announced at press time.

Developed at Avatr’s Global Design Centre in Munich under chief design officer Nader Faghihzadeh, the T09 builds on the design direction introduced by the Avatr Vision Spectra concept.

The full-size SUV has a three-dimensional relief grille incorporating 362 Avatr logo elements, crystal-inspired lighting and a large 2.1-square-metre clamshell bonnet.

Inside, the cabin features the marque's new retractable Vortex system, which uses 118 RGB LED lights to create dynamic lighting effects in response to vehicle functions. A triple-screen set-up comprises a 10.25-inch driver display and two 17.2-inch screens.

More than 1,000 horsepower from a super-hybrid powertrain.

The T09 Concept combines Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving technology with Avatr’s in-house Taihang Intelligent Control system.

The former supports the vehicle's driving assistance capabilities, such as automatic emergency braking, assistance with collision avoidance and recognition of certain obstacles, while Taihang Intelligent Control is Avatr's intelligent chassis technology that improves handling, ride comfort and stability by coordinating the vehicle's drivetrain and chassis systems.

Power comes from a hybrid system pairing a 2-litre turbocharged engine with a three-motor electric drive system. Avatr claims power figures of more than 1,000 horsepower, while a 71.24kWh CATL Freevoy Super Hybrid battery provides over 400 km of pure-electric range on the CLTC test cycle.

These figures position the T09 as the Chinese manufacturer's technology-led flagship, though real-world range and final production specifications have yet to be confirmed.

Avatr targets more than 110 markets by 2030.

Avatr currently operates in 70 countries and regions, with more than 280,000 vehicle owners worldwide.

The automaker's European expansion will begin with the 06T sedan and 07L five-seater SUV, with six models planned for the region over the next three years. The line-up is expected to cover mid-size SUVs, large SUVs and shooting-brake bodystyles.

Looking ahead, Avatr aims to expand into more than 110 countries and regions by 2030, with overseas sales accounting for more than half of its total sales. With Europe next on its expansion roadmap, the T09 Concept offers an early look at the flagship models intended to strengthen Avatr’s position in the premium automotive market.

Premium Automobiles has confirmed that the T09 Concept will not be at Singapore Motorshow 2027 in January. Whether the production T09 will eventually make its way to Leng Kee Road remains to be seen.
