Singapore fuel prices rise by up to 12 cents, diesel crosses $4 a litre for the first time in three months

Fuel prices in Singapore have risen between 8 and 12 cents a litre on September 14 as tensions in the Middle East rage on. For the first time in three months, diesel now costs over $4 a litre at major retailers, with Caltex being the most expensive, charging $4.07 a litre, Shell and Esso follow suit at $4.03 a litre.

Following the increase in fuel prices, 95-octane petrol, which most passenger cars use, costs $3.45/litre at Esso and Shell, $3.49/litre at Caltex, with SPC and Sinopec prices remaining unaffected by the increase at $3.36/litre and $3.37/litre respectively. 

98-octane petrol price increased by 8 cents to $3.97/ litre at Esso and Shell, whereas SPC and Sinopec remained at $3.88/litre.

Shell and Caltex’s premium fuel options are both priced at $4.19/litre, whereas Sinopec charges $4.01/litre for their offering. Esso and SPC do not offer premium fuels.

SPC is the cheapest for 92-octane fuel at $3.34/litre, with Esso at $3.42 and Caltex at $3.46. Shell and Sinopec do not offer 92-octane petrol.
