McLaren W1 goes digital in Forza Horizon 6
McLaren’s new W1 hypercar joins Forza Horizon 6's ever-expanding roster, giving Car Pass owners the chance to drive and customise the latest member of McLaren’s legendary ‘1’ lineage in-game.
The W1 arrives as part of the British Automotive Series update for the Microsoft Xbox flagship racing title. Players who own the Car Pass DLC (downloadable content) will receive the car directly in their in-game garage as part of the latest vehicle release.
As a certain self-proclaimed DJ would say, it's another ‘1’.
The W1 expands McLaren’s already sizeable presence within Forza, adding on to the roster of the halo ‘1’ cars, which are the McLaren F1, its Longtail variant, and the fire-breathing P1.
The P1 also has some Forza history too, having appeared as the cover car for Forza Motorsport 5 in 2013, and in turn being a poster car for many sim-racers growing up. I've personally lost track of how many laps of Bathurst I'd done in Forza with the P1 in that game!
With the arrival of W1, players can now experience a grand total of 13 McLarens in-game, including the current-production McLaren Artura, the F1 Longtail from the glory days of GT1 racing and the McLaren 620R track-weapon, though the latter is only obtainable through in-game Wheelspins.
Bringing the real W1 to the virtual world.
Unveiled as the successor to the F1 and P1, the McLaren W1 is designed around the brand's core performance principles of lightweight construction, aerodynamic efficiency and driver engagement.
Snapping out of virtual insanity into the real world, the W1 marries a 1,275hp V8 hybrid powertrain with its advanced aerodynamics and lightweight chassis technology to deliver McLaren's latest interpretation of the ultimate road-going hypercar.
Forza Horizon 6 players won't have to be put on a waiting list to spec their cars like its real-world brethren. The McLaren W1 is now available exclusively to those who own the Car Pass DLC, which can be purchased in-game.
