The new MINI Cooper Oxford Edition is a celebration of its British heritage

The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition celebrates the 25th anniversary of the first modern MINI to be built at the Oxford plant with a host of British-themed styling cues.

The MINI factory in Oxford, United Kingdom, was where the first classic Mini was built in 1959, and where the modern MINIs have been built since 2001, when the BMW Group took over the brand.

This new Oxford Edition pays tribute to MINI’s British heritage by incorporating the Union Jack into a variety of design elements throughout the interior and exterior of the car. 

The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition is available as either a Cooper C or a Cooper S, though only as the three-door variant. It’s also available in three body colours: Chili Red, Indigo Sunset Blue, and Blazing Blue.

Regardless of which colour you choose, the Oxford Edition comes fitted with a white contrast roof emblazoned with the Union Jack across the entire panel. A central red and white stripe runs along the entirety of the car as well, with white mirror caps meant to be a nod to MINIs of yesteryear. 18-inch rims with floating centre caps also come as standard.

Inside, the theming continues with a texture flag design printed below the steering wheel, unique door sills, a Union Jack theme for the infotainment system, and floor mats with a Union Jack on the driver’s side and a chequered flag on the passenger side, a tribute to MINI’s racing heritage.
