George Russell took a commanding victory in Singapore ahead of Verstappen and Norris as McLaren won the 2025 Constructors’ Championship.

After 62 gruelling laps at Marina Bay, George Russell in his Mercedes took the chequered flag in first place, securing his fifth win in Formula One.

Rain fell on the circuit an hour before the start, but the track dried out before they got going, albeit leaving the 20 drivers with a greasy circuit to navigate. Regardless of the conditions, Russell led from the moment the lights went out and drove a relatively unchallenged race while Verstappen duked it out throughout the race with Norris for second place.

Verstappen managed to hold off the McLaren to finish second, with Norris finishing in third. Championship leader Oscar Piastri finished in fourth place, with the McLaren drivers amassing enough points to clinch the 2025 Constructors’ Championship for the second year in a row.

Russell’s teammate, Kimi Antonelli, finished in fifth, ahead of Charles Leclerc in sixth. Lewis Hamilton was on course to pass Antonelli for fifth before brake issues dropped the seven-time world champion down to seventh place, finishing just ahead of Fernando Alonso.

Oliver Bearman and Carlos Sainz round off the final points finishers in ninth and tenth, respectively, with the Spaniard having a great drive after starting 18th on the grid following a post-qualifying disqualification.

McLaren’s Constructors’ Championship title tonight is their tenth in history, and the first time they’ve clinched it in consecutive years since 1991. They’ve also managed to secure the title with six more races left to run in the 2025 season.

In the Drivers' Championship, Oscar Piastri still tops the standings with 336 points, though tonight’s result has allowed Lando Norris to narrow the points gap down to just 22 points as they head to the next race in Austin, Texas. Max Verstappen now trails Piastri in the standings by 63 points as the reigning world champion attempts to hold on to his crown.

The F1 circus will now move on to the next race, the Formula One United States Grand Prix held at the Circuit of the Americas from 17 to 19 October.
