Singaporeans can soon clear JB immigration with QR codes using the MyNIISe app, starting Sep 22
Singaporeans travelling to Johor Bahru can soon enjoy faster immigration clearance using QR codes with the MyNIISe app. The trial will start on 2025 September 22 and run until 2026 February 28.
The MyNIISe app works for Malaysians and travellers from 63 countries, including Singapore. It can be used for solo travellers or for groups with a single QR code, which will help reduce the heavy traffic at both Johor checkpoints where more than 300,000 people cross daily.
Travellers must still carry their passports, but clearance will be faster. The app will also be used for the upcoming RTS Link between Johor Bahru and Singapore, where both countries’ immigration clearance will be completed at the point of departure.
Right now, 27 booths at the Johor Bahru checkpoint and 24 booths at the Second Link are ready to use the MyNIISe app. More booths will be added later.
The MyNIISe app is available on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei App Gallery. After the trial ends, it will replace the current QR code system as part of Malaysia’s plan to improve border security.
