What to do after a car accident

Step 1: Immediate action after the accident

• Turn on your car's hazard lights and move it to a safer spot if possible.

• Call 995 if there is any injury.

• Take photos - such as the vehicle damage, positions of the vehicles involved, and road signs.

• Exchange personal particulars - name, NRIC, contact number, car registration number, insurer, insurance policy number.

• Do not admit fault.

• Report the accident to your insurer within 24 hours
