The one millionth Porsche Macan rolls off the line in Leipzig
The Porsche plant in Leipzig produced its one millionth Macan last week, a significant milestone for the company.
The Porsche Macan has been produced in the Leipzig plant since it was introduced in 2013. The compact SUV has been hugely popular ever since, with 82,795 vehicles delivered in 2024 alone.
The millionth Macan, now a fully-electric vehicle, has rolled off the Leipzig factory floor in Macan 4 trim, featuring 408hp and a striking Frozen Blue Metallic paint job.
Porsche’s Leipzig plant is also home to a Porsche Experience Centre with a racetrack and off-road course. Owners who choose to collect their car at the factory can have a test drive on the racetrack in an identical model under the guidance of an instructor, allowing them to discover how their new car behaves at the limit.
The Leipzig factory is the second Porsche factory, after the headquarters in Stuttgart, and primarily produces the Macan and Panamera models. However, the Cayenne SUV and the legendary Carrera GT supercar were also made there in previous years.
