Vincar EV has secured the exclusive distribution rights to the GAC AION line-up of BEVs in Singapore. This agreement was formalised in Thailand, GAC AION’s first RHD export market, earlier this month.

More than one GAC AION model will be made available for sale in Singapore. The Chinese automaker is no stranger to electric vehicles, being a major player in the EV space in its native homeland.

Established in 1989 as a used car retailer, Vincar eventually pivoted to the sale of brand new parallel import vehicles. The company was publicly listed in 2019, and V1NCAR EV was added to its portfolio in 2021, to spearhead the dealer’s drive for electrification.

A V1NCAR EV representative confirmed that the first AION vehicle to be officially offered for sale in Singapore would be the AION Y Plus. Global Y Plus cars come with two different battery capacity options. The two variants, dubbed the 70 Executive Edition and the 80 Executive Edition, will come with a 63.98 kWh and a 76.8 kWh battery pack respectively. Expect the former to be able to cover 510 kilometres on a single charge, and the latter to do 610 kilometres.
