How much extra space do you get? Well, the Model 3 has a cargo capacity of 649 litres, which pales in comparison to the 2,158 litres in the Model Y. Mechanically and aesthetically though, Tesla’s mid-size SUV is very closely related to the Tesla Model 3, and as with its compact saloon stablemate, you can purchase your Model Y in two different trim levels.Editors%2 Fimages%2 F1654825003911 ModelyA more affordable ‘Standard’ variant can be had for $142,271 before COE. For your money, you’ll get a rear-wheel drive car, with 455 kilometres of range and a 0-100km/h time of 6.9 seconds. If you’re after the neck-snapping acceleration that Teslas are famed for, a ‘Performance’ version is also available, which will complete the century sprint in 3.7 seconds.. You’ll have to shell out $189,999 before COE for that luxury, for a car with 514 kilometres of range and all-wheel drive.

The higher spec car will also come with several other visual and performance alterations, including an increased top speed from 217 km/h to 250 km/h, 21’’ Überturbine Wheels, Performance Brakes and Lowered suspension.

The Model Y configurator is now also live, so do check it out here if you’re thinking about buying one!
