With Chinese New Year just around the corner, now is a good time to pick an auspicious date to give your car a thorough clean.
As the saying goes, "out with the old and in with the new". With Chinese New Year just four weeks away, now seems to be the perfect time to start planning your spring cleaning for the Lunar New Year.
For those who are unaware of this tradition, an annual spring clean is necessary to get rid of the bad luck accumulated and to welcome a more prosperous new year.
During a spring clean, sweeping the floor and dusting the whole house is essential. Why? That's because the Chinese characters “chen” [尘 ] and “chen” [陈] are homophonic and they mean "dust" and "old" respectively, thus it makes dusting and sweeping seem like the willingness to remove the old and usher in the new.
This applies not only to houses but also to cars. Doing so would not only bring your extra luck but also improve the feng shui in your vehicle.
If you're keen on undertaking spring cleaning for your house or your car, here are some auspicious dates for you to follow. Do take note that it is inauspicious to carry out spring cleaning on the first to the fifth day of the first Lunar Month.
