My car's COE will expire in November 2024, and I'm considering renewing it. If I renew the COE now, with about 5 months of car insurance and road tax remaining before the current COE expires, can I use these balances for the renewed COE period? Or do I need to cancel and reapply for a new insurance policy and road tax for the renewed COE/car?

Hi Ct, thank you for your question. If you renew your COE early, the remaining balance of your current COE will be forfeited. Therefore, we recommend renewing it one month before it expires to maximize its value. Additionally, you do not need to cancel and reapply for a new insurance policy and road tax when renewing your COE.
