I have transfer my company car ownership to personal, i have paid the retainer fee to keep the VRN to transfer it to the new owner, the same personal that I transfer the car ownership to. However after I paid the retainer fee they have actually give the new owner a new plate number this isn't what I wanted, how do I do a VRN transfer to the new owner.

A retained carplate cannot be transferred on it’s own. You have to either registered it to a car and transfer the entire car ownership to the next owner for retention and get the owner to transfer the car back to you after the retention OR you can register the carplate to a scrap car and transfer the scrap car to the next owner. The latter is a much better way as it will not affect your car’s ownership count which is crucial when you sell your car in the future.

If you need help in transferring the VRN via the scrap car method, you may contact us by using our MelChat feature.

P.S. We do sell carplates as well!
