If our vehicle is badly damaged by a pothole on the road can we get any compensation by any relevant dept

Did a bit of research on this, basically can't do anything. Only claim your own insurance. LTA won't do anything for you. The same thing applies when an old tree falls on your car, you can only claim against your own insurance
