NDP 2020: Where to See the Fireworks, Mobile Column and Red Lions

Although this year’s National Day Parade (NDP) will take on a different form due to the prevailing COVID pandemic, you can still witness sights like fireworks, the Mobile Column passing through your neighbourhood, and watch the Red Lions touch down in the heartlands!
According to the NDP 2020 Committee, this year’s theme, “Together, A Stronger Singapore” is a rallying call for Singaporeans to unite as one people, determined to emerge from the crisis stronger, as a nation.
With the conventional NDP parade and ceremonies unavailable due to COVID preventive measures, Singaporeans will instead enjoy festivities spread across the day.
Where to Watch the Fireworks
There are 10 locations where fireworks will be displayed at 8.20pm, during the Pledge Moment: Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Buona Vista, Jurong Lake Gardens, Marina Reservoir, Punggol, Sembawang, Tampines, Woodlands and Yew Tee.
Residents in these areas are advised to view the spectacle from home, as the sites have been designed to maximise home viewership. Although most sites will be open to the public, the Jurong Lake Gardens and Marina Reservoir sites will be closed to the public, to avoid large crowds gathering.
The highlight to most Singaporeans will surely be the Mobile Column, which features 66 assets from our Armed Forces, Police, and Civil Defence. It will travel along five routes from 10am to 1pm, covering a total of 200km, the longest distance for any Mobile Column into the heartlands.

You can refer to this list to see what assets will be featured for each of these routes. The Mobile Column will also feature for the first time the new Next-Generation Fast Response Car from the Singapore Police Force.
As a salute to all healthcare workers for their efforts in combatting COVID-19, the mobile column will feature about 100 frontline workers, and will pass by Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Sengkang General Hospital, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Singapore EXPO.

The Red Lions will be jumping off their C-130s from just a height of 1,525m, which is about half of the typical height they drop from during NDP events.
They will land at open fields near SKGH and NTFGH, in Sengkang East Road and Toh Guan Road respectively in the morning of National Day at 9am.
The parachutists will also be flying with the State Flag and this year’s NDP banners, so look out for a visual spectacle if you live in the area!
