December 2025 COE Results 2nd Bidding: The COE monster was both naughty and nice for Santa Claus who’s coming to town, with price-drop presents only for the “big car” and motorbike Categories
In the second COE bidding exercise of December 2025, Cat A closed at $109,501; Cat B closed at $115,102; Cat C closed at $77,003; Cat D closed at $8,081; while Cat E closed at $119,000.
Cat A (car up to 1600cc & 130bhp, and EV with up to 110kW) received 1,647 bids for 1,283 COEs and its premium climbed by $4,088. Category A COE closed at $109,501.
Cat B (car above 1600cc or 130bhp, and EV with more than 110kW) received 968 bids for 838 COEs and its premium dipped by $8,798. Category B COE closed at $115,102.
Cat C (goods vehicle and bus) received 407 bids for 286 COEs and its premium increased by $502. Category C COE closed at $77,003.
Cat D (motorcycle) received 632 bids for 536 COEs and its premium decreased by $208. Category D COE closed at $8,081.

Motorist asked several senior executives in the motor trade to share their New Year forecast🔮🧐for the very first COE bidding round of 2026 three weeks from now (January 5-7 next year).
Ng Choon Wee, Komoco Motors’ commercial director for Hyundai, said: “The market has been quiet since November, mainly due to holidaying season. Cat A has been overcrowded and the push to register cars this year before the VES change next year, especially for EVs, contributed to the increase in Cat A premium, from aggressive bidding too. With VES changing in January 2026, the drop in Cat B premium will offset the change, which suggests that prices for Cat B may remain the same. Potential buyers may wait for the Singapore Motorshow deals and not go for next bid. Despite it being a three-week window period, I guess COE may remain the same or have a small dip in the next bid.”
Nicholas Wong, CEO of Kah Motor Honda, said: “COE will definitely trend up due to motorshow, especially Cat B since it dropped by $8k in this round.”
Ron Lim, Tan Chong Motor’s head of sales and marketing for Nissan, said: “I don’t see any reason for COE to fluctuate much from here, even given the three weeks long period, due to the holidays in between which will mitigate the number of new deals coming in. In fact, consumers might not be willing to bite, especially for Category A, since Cat A COE actually went up and overall car prices for Cat A might go up after factoring in the new VES/EEAI changes.”
