ZipZap is a new, no-deposit, car subscription service created by GetGo
ZipZap is a new, no-deposit car leasing platform created by the same company behind car-sharing firm GetGo.
The new platform offers long-term car leasing with no deposit and a minimum rental period of six months. ZipZap’s all-inclusive, subscription-based service covers insurance, maintenance, and road tax, claiming to offer the stability of car ownership without the longer-term financial obligations.
ZipZap’s service comprises a curated selection of cars with models like the Suzuki Swift, Honda HR-V, and BMW X2 available. Pricing information is not readily available on their website, but a report by The Straits Times found that the monthly fee starts at around $2,000, which includes all major costs except fuel.
In addition to flexible lease durations, ZipZap offers one-on-one support to guide new users through the process of selecting the most suitable car and subscription plan for their individual needs, including a personal financial health consultation.
As part of its launch, ZipZap is also rolling out its Subscribe & Share feature, currently in beta stage testing. The feature allows subscribers to sub-let their cars on GetGo’s car-sharing platform to allow other users to rent their cars to offset their subscription fees.
Toh Ting Feng, CEO of ZipZap and GetGo, said, “We saw a clear gap between short-term rentals and long-term ownership, and many drivers wanted something in between: consistent access to a personal car, without the stress of large upfront payments or being tied down for years.”
