Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is game for some virtual racing plus an actual speed record
Gran Turismo 7 will get its first Chinese car with the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, which set a new Nurburgring lap record for the fastest production EV.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will debut in Gran Turismo 7, marking the series' first-ever collaboration with a Chinese car manufacturer.
At the Gran Turismo World Series 2025 event, Polyphony Digital announced a partnership with Xiaomi to bring its flagship electric fastback to the benchmark driving simulator. GT7 players worldwide will get to experience the SU7 Ultra's ultra-high performance in the hugely popular game - no driving licence required.
The virtual Chinese electric vehicle will be among the fastest four-wheel-drive (4WD) machines available within the road car category of Gran Turismo 7.
Coinciding with the announcement, the real-world version of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra made headlines after lapping the Nürburgring racetrack in an electrifying 7 minutes & 4.957 seconds (7'04"957). The record-setting 1,548 PS super SU7 (pictured below) was equipped with the optional track package.
This is a new speed record for fastest production electric vehicle. The powerful Xiaomi upstart dethroned the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, which previously held the title with a lap time of 7 minutes & 7.55 seconds (7'07"55).
