Vantage Auto Unveils new BYD Atto 3 EV!

BYD has officially unveiled their latest electric crossover in Singapore, which has been designed to compete directly with various other mainstream crossover EVs but at a drastically more competitive price.

That isn’t to say that the Atto 3 is the cheapest SUV EV that you can buy in Singapore - at present, the Cat A COE-friendly MG ZS EV is cheaper, but you certainly do not get the same levels of performance and technology in most of its closest competitors.At launch, the car will set you back $178,888 once you factor in all the extra discounts you get for being an early bird.

Coming Of Age For The Chinese Brand Locally

Prior to the Atto 3, BYD’s offerings in Singapore were really best catered for fleet use. However, their latest offering bucks the trend, sporting a surprisingly well-crafted interior with plenty of soft touch materials, with quality sound insulation and a refined drivetrain.

Visually, the car adopts BYD’s latest Dragon Face 3.0 design language, which combines fitness-inspired cues such as the form of flexed muscle fibres, with stylistic options that were more musical in origin.Built on a dedicated EV platform, BYD claims that the car will do 480km between charges. The motor powering the car develops 201 bhp, and it draws its power for traction from BYD’s own 60.5kWh, Blade battery pack.

As with most modern EVs, the Atto 3 is a ‘connected’ vehicle, which means it will receive over-the-air(OTA) updates to further refine the user interface in the cabin. What makes it different from its competitors though, is BYD’s decision to display a vast majority of the car’s functions on a rotating 12.8 inch infotainment screen. Current cars lack smartphone mirroring capabilities, which will be rectified in a future OTA update.Vantage is now offering test drives to interested customers.
