Why are the speed limits for light commercial vehicles raised?

The higher speed limit would allow light commercial vehicles to travel at higher speeds and narrow their speed differential with other vehicles that have higher speed limits. This would improve the traffic flow on expressways without compromising road safety. However, these vehicles, as with other vehicles, would still be subjected to the posted speed limits on the roads.

For safety reasons, light goods vehicles carrying workers on the vehicles' cargo decks/compartments and small buses without seat belts for passengers will continue to be subjected to the speed limit of 60km/h.
