New JB Checkpoint Feature and Giveaway: Here's What You Can Expect on Our App for Motorist's 8th Birthday!

Motorist is celebrating eight years of serving the needs of drivers and car owners this month, and we're kicking it off in style by launching the much-awaited Checkpoint feature on our app that covers all Singapore and JB land checkpoints!

Utilising our new and improved traffic camera function, app users can now view real-time traffic conditions on both sides of the Causeway in high definition. On top of that, we also provide time estimates for clearing through the various checkpoints and routes.

This way, you can now plan your journey out even more accurately from the convenience of your phone!

Accessing the new Checkpoint feature is as simple as tapping on the icon labelled "Checkpoint" on our app dashboard. Over two dozen cameras showing the traffic conditions on both borders and along the roads leading towards them will be available to you. 

They can be individually viewed by simply tapping on a specific camera. To view even more closely, you can pinch to zoom on the image.

Our Checkpoint feature will also include the Fuel Check Status function, which alerts fellow motorists on fuel checks that may be conducted at the borders.

But Wait, There's More!

In conjunction with our eighth-anniversary celebrations, we will also be holding a birthday giveaway where you can stand a chance to win petrol vouchers worth S$80!

From the 9th to 18th of June 2023, find a birthday cake icon hidden in any of our traffic camera photos on the Motorist app. Screenshot and upload it online, and tag/mention us on any one of the following social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok) to stand a chance to win a petrol voucher worth S$80, with three lucky winners daily! The most creative birthday wish stands a chance to win another $80 petrol voucher.

Make sure to follow us on all three platforms and tag us at @motoristsg along with the hashtag #hbmotorist to qualify for our giveaway! We also recommend including your own watermark in your submitted photo to ensure its validity.

Terms and Conditions:

1.  To participate in the Motorist Birthday Giveaway, eligible participants are required to:
   • Download the Motorist App.
   • Like the Motorist Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok pages.
   • Ensure that your social media profile settings are set to "Public".
   • Take a screenshot when they see the “Birthday Cake” appear in the Hi-Res Camera image.
   • Post the screenshot, tag @motoristsg, hashtag #hbmotorist and include their birthday wish to Motorist.
2. Contest Period:
   • From 9 June to 18 June 2023 (10 days).
   • There will be three lucky winners every day.
3. Eligibility:
   • Complete all the steps of the campaign mechanism.
   • Aged 18 years and above.
   • Employees of Motorist Singapore and its related companies are not allowed to participate in any contest organised by Motorist Singapore.
   • Duplicated submissions will not be accepted.
4. Selection of winner(s):
   • Eligible participants who have completed the contest mechanism will be selected at random by Motorist Singapore’s Marketing Team, at its sole discretion.
   • Participants can only win once.⁣⁣
5. Prize(s):
   • The prize(s) are not redeemable for cash or other deals of any kind or for resale under any circumstances.
   • We reserve the right to substitute the prize(s) with other items of similar value.
6. Notification of winner(s):
   • The winner(s) will be contacted via Mel Chat from 9 June to 18 June 2023.
   • The winner(s) must acknowledge that they have been selected and will come to the office to collect their prize within the given time frame. We will not be responsible if the selected winner(s) cannot be contacted for any reason. If we are unable to contact any of the winners within one day from the date of the announcement of the winners, the relevant prize(s) shall be forfeited or disposed of at the discretion of Motorist Singapore or Motorist Singapore may nominate a substitute winner.
7. Prize(s) collection process:
   • The winner(s) are required to come to the Motorist Singapore office to collect the prize(s).
   • The prize(s) must be collected before 30th June.
   • The winner(s) are required to provide their personal details for verification and contact purposes. Personal details include their full name, contact number, and the last four digits of their NRIC.
   • The winner(s) may get a representative to collect the prize(s) for them on their behalf in the event that they are unable to do so themselves.
   • The representative will need to show a screenshot of the message from Mel Chat, and the details of the person that they are collecting for.
8. Additional Terms and Conditions:
   • Each participant may submit multiple entries, but only one (1) entry may win.
   • If a participant or winner is found to have breached any terms under the Terms and Conditions, they will be immediately disqualified.
   • We reserve the right to, at any time, change, amend, delete or add to the Terms and Conditions and other rules and regulations including the mechanism of the giveaway at our absolute discretion without prior notice.
   • Motorist reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions, including the right to cancel the giveaway in such manner as they deem fit, without prior notice or reason, and without liability to such participant or winner.
   • By accepting the prize(s), the winner(s) agrees to participate in all reasonable marketing publicity as instructed by Motorist relating to the prize(s) prior to and after the collection of the prize(s), which includes sharing a permanent and mandatory post on our social media platforms.
   • Any collection, use and disclosure of participants’ personal data will be strictly in accordance with Motorist’s Privacy Policy, a copy of which may be obtained from Motorist’s offices or from www.motorist.sg.
   • By continuing to participate in the giveaway, you signify that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, Motorist’s Terms of Use, and Motorist’s Privacy Policy.
   • These Terms and Conditions and the giveaway shall be construed and governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
   • By accepting the prize(s), the Prize Winner(s) agree to hold harmless, defend and indemnify Motorist from and against any and all claims, demands, liability, damages or causes of action or losses, with respect to or arising out of or related to the prize(s).
   • Motorist reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete, improper or late entry without disclosing or providing any reason whatsoever. Motorist reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the giveaway with or without prior notice.
