I am a Singaporean and I am sending my Singapore registered car to Malaysia workshop for repair. Is it possible for my Malaysian friend to drive my car back to Singapore?

Hi Alex23, thank you for your question. Singapore does not recognize a foreign driving licence from other countries unless accompanied by an International Driver’s Permit.

If your friend has his current licence from his home country and will drive your car back to Singapore, he must apply for an International Driver’s Permit (IDP). Just like a foreign driving licence, the IDP must contain information such as his details and his photo.
