4 Questions You Need to Ask Your Car Dealer(Photo Credit: Pexels)

While the smell of fresh new leather seats and shimmering car gloss might be intoxicating and enticing, you need to look past it and find out everything you need to from the dealer.

So, here are four questions what you need to ask your car dealer before getting the keys to a new car.

1. What Are Your Options

So you've got the extra cash to buy a new set of wheels. Similar to buying the latest mobile phone, you want to see what car is best for you and your needs. As cool as a two door SUV sounds, it isn't the best option for a family of four. Ask your dealer what's best for you and do your research. Explore the dealership page to see what cars you can compare between. After all, you're going to be stuck with it for 10 years.

2. Guaranteed COE

When you're buying a car, make sure you speak with the dealer about the COE guarantee. A non-guaranteed COE would require you to wait until your COE bid gets through. With a guaranteed COE, the car and the COE are secured. Only seal the deal after getting this information in black and white.

3. Warranty

You don't expect to ride out with a new vehicle without a warranty right? Warranties can vary from dealer to dealer, the normal expected warranty will span about five years and will cover most mechanical parts. Be sure to ask if all warranty services will be done by an authorised workshop.

4. Push for the Last Offer

It may seem like a long stretch, but something definitely worth trying. It could save you hundreds to thousands of dollars if you haggle a bit. Go into the dealership with a spending goal in mind and make your offer firm. The sincerity will shine through, when your dealer finds out that you're here to buy a car for a good price.
